Privacy Policy

Well Sounder: Water Level ("the App") is published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). The short version: everything stays on your iPhone. We collect nothing, and there is no account.
1. Microphone (and speaker)
With your permission, the App records sound through your microphone while you take a sounding, typically for under a minute, and analyses it on your iPhone to find the echo from the water. In Sweep mode it also plays short tones through the speaker. The recording is discarded after the analysis unless you turn on Field capture (below). It is never sent anywhere.
2. Field capture (optional, off by default)
If you turn on Settings → Field capture, the App saves each sounding's raw recording and its settings as files in the App's folder on your iPhone, so they can be checked against a tape measurement. They stay on your device, visible in the Files app, until you delete them or share them yourself.
3. Location (optional)
If you tap "Estimate from my location", the App asks once for your approximate location to estimate the air temperature in your well. Only the resulting temperature is kept; your location is not stored or sent anywhere.
4. Data stored on your device
- Wells: the name, casing size and material, height above ground, and any depths you enter from the well log.
- Readings: each sounding's depth, uncertainty, confidence, temperature and a small echogram; recovery tests.
- Preferences: settings, the free-tier counter and whether you have Pro.
None of it leaves your iPhone unless you share a report or a recording yourself. Deleting the App deletes all of it.
5. No analytics, no trackers
The App contains no analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporters or third-party trackers, shows no ads, and makes no network requests of its own. We operate no servers that hold user data.
6. Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells the App whether you have Pro; we never see your payment details or Apple ID.
7. Children
The App is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
